Sentinel Containers LLC ("Sentinel Containers," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit our website, request a quote, or purchase a shipping container or related service from us, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to our website and to information we collect by phone, email, and in person in connection with our sales.
By using our website or submitting information to us, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us. Your name, business name, email address, phone number, and billing and delivery addresses; the contents of quote requests, contact forms, and messages; and details about the products and services you ask about.
Information collected automatically. When you visit our site we and our analytics and advertising partners may collect your IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, referring URLs, and similar usage data through cookies and similar technologies. See Section 5.
Payment information. Payments are processed by third-party payment processors. We do not store full card numbers on our servers; we receive only limited transaction details (for example, a confirmation and the last four digits) needed to manage your order.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information (such as government ID numbers or financial-account credentials) beyond what a transaction requires.
2. How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- respond to quote requests, questions, and customer-service inquiries;
- process, fulfill, deliver, and support your orders;
- send transactional messages (order confirmations, delivery updates, invoices);
- send marketing communications where permitted, which you can opt out of at any time (Section 6);
- operate, secure, and improve our website and prevent fraud; and
- comply with our legal, tax, and regulatory obligations.
3. How we share your information
We share personal information with:
- Service providers who act on our behalf — payment processors, website hosting and analytics, email delivery, and delivery/logistics carriers — and who are permitted to use it only to provide those services;
- Advertising and analytics partners, through cookies and similar technologies, to measure and serve advertising (this may be a "sale" or "sharing" under certain state laws — see Section 7);
- Legal and safety recipients, when required by law, subpoena, or to protect our rights, safety, or property; and
- A successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.
We do not sell your personal information for money. We do not share information with unrelated third parties for their own marketing without your consent.
4. Data security and retention
We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We retain personal information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described here and to meet legal, tax, accounting, and recordkeeping requirements, after which we delete or de-identify it.
5. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies for site functionality, to remember preferences, to measure traffic (for example, Google Analytics), and to support advertising. You can control cookies through your browser settings and, where offered, through our cookie/consent banner. Blocking some cookies may affect site functionality. We honor opt-out preference signals (such as Global Privacy Control) where required by law.
6. Marketing communications and your choices
If we send marketing email, every message includes an unsubscribe link, and we honor opt-out requests promptly as required by the CAN-SPAM Act. We will only send marketing text messages (SMS) with your prior express written consent, consistent with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA); you can opt out of texts at any time by replying STOP. Opting out of marketing does not stop transactional messages about an active order.
7. Your U.S. privacy rights
Depending on your state of residence, you may have some or all of the rights below. We do not discriminate against you for exercising them.
California (CCPA/CPRA). California residents have the right to: know and access the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect, use, and disclose; request deletion; request correction; and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (including cross-context behavioral advertising). California residents may also limit the use of sensitive personal information, though we do not use sensitive personal information for purposes that trigger this right. To opt out, use the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link in our website footer (or contact us as described below).
Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and other states. Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws may have the right to access, correct, delete, and obtain a portable copy of their personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising and the sale of personal information. Where applicable, you may appeal a decision on your request by contacting us.
How to exercise your rights. Submit a request to privacy@sentinelcontainers.com or +1 415 662-3352. We will verify your identity before acting and will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf with proper authorization.
8. Children's privacy
Our website and services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Third-party links
Our site may link to third-party websites we do not control. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we are not responsible for them.
10. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date, and material changes will take effect when posted. Your continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
